TAWAI – A voice from the forest and Live Q&A with Bruce Parry at Movies @ Dundrum

Tawai is the word the nomadic hunter-gatherers of Borneo use to describe their inner feeling of connection to nature. In this dreamy, philosophical and sociological look at life, explorer Bruce Parry travels the world to learn from people living lives very differently to our own. From the jungles of Malaysia to the tributaries of the Amazon.

Tawai is a quest for reconnection, providing a powerful voice from the heart of the forest that takes us on a journey of exploration into the Indian subcontinent, the forests of Borneo, deep into the Amazon and to the Isle of Skye. It investigates what has happened to our societies and our lives since we have stopped flowing with nature and shaped our own needs.
It is a film from BBC’s Bruce Parry (BAFTA award winning Amazon and TRIBE) and has been 4-5 years in the making. Produced by the likes of Julien Lennon (and uncredited Bono and Damien Hirst). Bruce will be in the cinema on Friday 6th October for a live Q&A after the film.
